Highlights of the Year |
This year, The Community Foundation has:
- Awarded
over $1 million to community groups as of September
2002
- Distributed $71,250 from the Millennium
Trust to projects that will strengthen our community
by reaching across barriers
- Become Boulder County’s largest
funder of gay and lesbian needs through the Open
Door Fund
- Raised $50,000 for distribution to groups
serving disadvantaged children and youth through the
Catalog
for Giving
- Hosted the first-ever Boulder County
Funders’ Fair, bringing together foundation
and corporate funders with community nonprofits for
a day-long session
- Helped countless nonprofits focus on
building capacity, diversifying, and surviving uncertain
economic times through concentrating on these in our
general grant
process
- Revamped the Culture of Giving Initiative,
driving traffic to the www.cultureofgiving.org
site to promote local giving
- Progressed toward our goal of raising
our funds under management to $25 million by 2005
- Helped scores of donors
establish funds, connect with nonprofit causes
they care about, and talk with their families about
philanthropy
- Continued to offer assistance to
hundreds of nonprofits through our seventh annual
Community
Ventures seminar, W.I.N.
luncheons, and one-on-one visits
