Josie Heath is President of The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County, a position she has held since l995. She served as County Commissioner from l982-1990, the second woman elected to serve as Commissioner for Boulder County. During that time she chaired the Consortium of Cities and chaired the Urban Caucus for Colorado Counties.
Heath served in the Carter Administration as the Regional Director of ACTION, the federal agency for national service. Her leadership responsibilities included Peace Corps recruitment, and supervision of other national service programs involving eighteen thousand volunteers in six western states. Read

Maegan Ball
Maegan Ball is the Individual Giving Coordinator at The Community Foundation and responsible for increasing individual support through annual giving efforts and the Foundation's planned giving program. Maegan has been a professional fundraiser in Boulder since 2007, previously working as the Development Coordinator at the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and the Golden West Foundation. She has experience with several aspects of fundraising, from events management to coordinating annual campaigns. She is a native of Colorado and a graduate of the University of Colorado. She currently lives in Louisville with her husband and feisty Puggle, Bonafide.

Chris Barge
Chris Barge directs The Community Foundation’s School Readiness Initiative, which seeks to close Boulder County’s achievement gap between kids from low-income families and their peers. He joined the foundation in 2008 after a 10-year career in newspapers, including with the Rocky Mountain News and the Boulder Daily Camera. He and his wife Erin live with their daughter Ellery and son Milo in Boulder.

Suzanne Barnes
Suzanne
joined the staff in April 2006 as Spruce Street Mansion
and Community Foundation Office Administrator. She
brings a strong background in international nonprofit
work. Since 2002 Suzanne has organized and participated
in seven multi-national dental clinics serving Russian
orphans and street children. Clinic locations include
Siberia, St. Petersburg and Dimitrov. She is a graduate
of Eastern Kentucky University. She lives with her
twin son and daughter in Louisville.

Kara Edwards
Kara Edwards is the Community Foundation's Director of Finance. She brings over 14 years of accounting/finance experience to the Foundation from the commercial and non-profit sectors. Most recently she worked for ARCA biopharma, Inc. in Broomfield as the Manager of Accounting. Her experience extends to the non-profit sector in her work with Devereux Cleo Wallace in Westminster. Her educational degrees include a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a B.S. from Michigan State University in Natural Resources Management and Policy. Kara has lived in various areas throughout the U.S. and Canada and is thrilled to join her family in Colorado. Volunteer activities are an important and integral part of Kara's leisure time and a favorite activity is her involvement with the senior participants of Circle of Care. She lives in Louisville and enjoys cycling, rock climbing and skate skiing.

Barbara Green
Barbara Green serves as associate director of the Boulder County Civic Forum, helping to produce the biennial TRENDS report. She has more than 10 years of professional writing experience, having previously worked as a daily newspaper reporter, magazine editor, and development director. Barbara has volunteered and worked with non-profit organizations in Colorado, New York, New Jersey and Bolivia, including Intercambio: Uniting Communities in Boulder and Mothers on the Move in the South Bronx. She received a B.A. in English from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. in Geography from Syracuse University, where her master's thesis focused on issues of indigenous identity and resource governance in the Andes. She and her husband, Michael, live in Boulder, and are University of Colorado men's basketball devotees.

Margaret Katz
Margaret was the Vice President of Development at the foundation from 1996 until 2005. She rejoined the foundation in 2008 as a Donor Advocate, before taking on the role of Director of Philanthropic Services in July 2012. Prior to 1996, Margaret worked at the Associated Press as a reporter and co-authored a buying guide with her mom. Margaret has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Colorado and a B.A. from Cornell University. She lives in Boulder with her husband and two sons.

Morgan Rogers McMillan
Morgan Rogers McMillan joined the foundation staff in early 2002 after receiving her BS in Business Administration and Marketing from Georgetown University. She spent three years serving first as Programs Associate and later as Director of Programs. Morgan left Boulder in August of 2004 to pursue her Masters in Public Health from San Diego State University, researching community environmental health and obesity prevention with Latino families along the San Diego/Mexico border. She also worked for the Institute of Public Health, an organization specializing in policy evaluation. While in graduate school Morgan spent two summers in Oaxaca, Mexico learning Spanish and working with indigenous populations on behavioral health risks. Morgan returned to Boulder and The Community Foundation in the spring of 2006 to serve as Director of the Boulder County Civic Forum. Gretchen Minekime
Gretchen oversees The Community Foundation’s marketing and communication activities, including the Culture of Giving. Prior to joining the foundation in 2002, Gretchen was the People Project Director at The Adopt A School Program and the Youth Prevention Education Coordinator for MESA/Rape Crisis Team. She served as President of Boulder Business Professional Women (BPW) from 2005-2006 and lives in Lafayette with her husband.

Elvira Ramos
Elvira, Foundation Program Director, brings to the Community Foundation more than 20 years experience in non-profit management, planning, development, grant making, and community relations and most recently served as Executive Director of the Community Foundation in Brownsville, Texas. Elvira has volunteered for or been on the board of numerous organizations, including the Directors of Volunteers in Agencies, the Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council, the Adult Learning Source, SCFD, the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award Committee, the US/Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership, and serves on the Komen for the Cure National Multicultural Advisory Council. She is an experienced trainer and facilitator and has led workshops in board and leadership development, diversity and cultural competency, volunteer management, and strategic planning.

Stefan Reyes
Stefan serves as The Community Foundation’s Grants Administrator. Born and raised near Boulder, he brings a strong background in customer service and local non-profit work. After years of volunteering with various non-profits around Denver, in 2005, he gained a paid internship with the administration of Clinica Tepeyac in Denver. Not long after, Stefan co-founded a 6-month community leadership, youth education program in Malinalco, MX. He is currently finishing his BA in Spanish Language & Literature at the University of Colorado here in Boulder.

Bruce
Skelton
Bruce
joined The Community Foundation in February of 2005
as Database and Operations Manager. From his hometown
of Hamilton, NY, he moved to Madison, WI, where he
attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating with
a degree in Sociology. A thirteen year resident of
Boulder County, Bruce chose to move his family here
after falling in love with the area. His career includes
twenty plus years of varied management experience
in the computer/service industry.
