Josie Heath is
the President of The Community Foundation Serving Boulder
County, a position she has held since l995. She served
as County Commissioner from l982-1990, the second woman
elected to serve as Commissioner for Boulder County. The Colorado Association of NonProfit Organizations honored Josie as their 2004 Awardee for her statewide service to the civic sector. She was inducted into the Colorado Women’s Hall of Fame in that same year.

Chris Barge
Chris Barge is The Community Foundation's Director of Philanthropic Services. He leads efforts with major donors to the Foundation and partners with local professional advisors to provide clients with comprehensive philanthropic assistance. He joined the Foundation in June 2008 after a 10-year career in newspapers, including the Rocky Mountain News and the Daily Camera. His journalism work reinforced for him the increasing importance of philanthropy and civic engagement in communities. Suzanne Barnes
Suzanne
joined the staff in April 2006 as Spruce Street Mansion
and Community Foundation Office Administrator. She
brings a strong background in international nonprofit
work. Since 2002 Suzanne has organized and participated
in seven multi-national dental clinics serving Russian
orphans and street children. Clinic locations include
Siberia, St. Petersburg and Dimitrov. She is a graduate
of Eastern Kentucky University. She lives with her

Kara Edwards
Kara Edwards is the Community Foundation's Director of Finance. She brings over 14 years of accounting/finance experience to the Foundation from the commercial and non-profit sectors. Most recently she worked for ARCA biopharma, Inc. in Broomfield as the Manager of Accounting. Her experience extends to the non-profit sector in her work with Devereux Cleo Wallace in Westminster. Her educational degrees include a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a B.S. from Michigan State University in Natural Resources Management and Policy. Kara has lived in various areas throughout the U.S. and Canada and is thrilled to join her family in Colorado. Volunteer activities are an important and integral part of Kara's leisure time and a favorite activity is her involvement with the senior participants of Circle of Care. She lives in Louisville and enjoys cycling, rock climbing and skate skiing.

Margaret Katz
Margaret rejoined the staff of The Community Foundation as a Donor Advocate
in May 2008. She was previously the Vice President of Development at the
foundation from 1996 until 2005. Before 1996, Margaret worked at the
Associated Press as a reporter and co-authored a buying guide with her mom.
Margaret has a master's degree in journalism from the University of Colorado
and a B.A. from Cornell University. She lives in Boulder with her husband
and two sons.

Gretchen Minekime
Before joining The Community Foundation in September
2002, Gretchen was the People Project Director at
The Adopt A School Program and before that the Youth
Prevention Education Coordinator for MESA/Rape Crisis
Team. She graduated from The University of Colorado
and was the 2005-2006 President of BPW--Boulder Business
Professional Women. As the Director of Advancement
her work includes overseeing the foundation's marketing
and communications activities, including the Culture
of Giving, and managing relationships with corporate
sponsors. Gretchen lives in Lafayette with her husband and their two goofy dogs.

Lyn Monica
Lyn Monica is The Community Foundation's Staff Accountant. Lyn will administer grants and provide general accounting support. She earned a B.S. in Accounting from San Francisco State University and has over ten years of accounting and auditing experience. She has also been a paraeducator and literacy tutor in the Boulder Valley School District. Lyn moved from California in 1997 and lives in Lafayette with her husband, daughter and fat cat, Gizmo.

Elvira Ramos
Elvira, Foundation Program Director, brings to the Community Foundation more than 20 years experience in non-profit management, planning, development, grant making, and community relations and most recently served as Executive Director of the Community Foundation in Brownsville, Texas. Elvira has volunteered for or been on the board of numerous organizations, including the Directors of Volunteers in Agencies, the Colorado Behavioral Healthcare Council, the Adult Learning Source, SCFD, the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer Award Committee, the US/Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership, and serves on the Komen for the Cure National Multicultural Advisory Council. She is an experienced trainer and facilitator and has led workshops in board and leadership development, diversity and cultural competency, volunteer management, and strategic planning.

Morgan Rogers
Morgan
Rogers joined the foundation staff in early 2002 after
receiving her BS in Business Administration and Marketing
from Georgetown University. She spent three years
serving first as Programs Associate and later as Director
of Programs. Morgan left Boulder in August of 2004
to pursue her Masters in Public Health from San Diego
State University, researching community environmental
health and obesity prevention with Latino families
along the San Diego/Mexico border. She also worked
for the Institute of Public Health, an organization
specializing in policy evaluation. While in graduate
school Morgan spent two summers in Oaxaca, Mexico
learning Spanish and working with indigenous populations
on behavioral health risks. Morgan returned to Boulder
and The Community Foundation in the spring of 2006
and now serves as Director of the Boulder

Bruce
Skelton
Bruce
joined The Community Foundation in February of 2005
as Database and Operations Manager. From his hometown
of Hamilton, NY, he moved to Madison, WI, where he
attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating with
a degree in Sociology. A thirteen year resident of
Boulder County, Bruce chose to move his family here
after falling in love with the area. His career includes
twenty plus years of varied management experience
in the computer/service industry.

Max Taffet
Max joined The Community Foundation staff as Program Research Associate in June of 2010. He supports research and presentation of The Community Foundation's Boulder County Trends Report and provides programmatic support to the Foundation's Leadership Fellows program and 15 Forever Youth Grant Committee. Born in Boulder, he has a lifelong knowledge and commitment to Boulder County. As a student at Boulder High he served on the City of Boulder's Youth Opportunity Advisory Board and as a university student he interned with Boulder County's Healthy Youth Alliance. In 2009, Max graduated from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, completing a degree in political science and fine arts. While pursuing his degree Max studied Spanish in Guatemala and, after graduating, taught primary and secondary school in Honduras.

Jennie Arbogash
Jennie Arbogash is the Executive Director of Social Venture Partners Boulder County, a fund of The Community Foundation. Working in the non-profit sector for almost two decades, she has expertise in leadership, management, capacity building, strategic philanthropy, facilitation, fundraising, marketing, and volunteer management. Jennie is a graduate of the Masters in Nonprofit Management program at Regis University, a Colorado Trust Fellow, and co-author of a groundbreaking capacity assessment process for non-profit organizations. In 2011 she was honored by Boulder County Business Report by being named to 40 Under Forty. A non-profit wonk at heart, her favorite hobbies are teaching volunteer management, serving on non-profit boards, and engaging passionate people in social change. She has worked and volunteered in organizations serving at-risk youth, children in medical need, HIV/AIDS, disease prevention, volunteer engagement, animal welfare, and more.
