SAFEHOUSE PROGRESSIVE ALLIANCE FOR NONVIOLENCE (SPAN)
ANNOUNCES 3 FULL TIME JOB OPENINGS
SPANISH BILINGUAL OUTREACH WOMEN’S COUNSELOR
The Spanish Bilingual Outreach Women’s Counselor will provide crisis intervention, information and referrals, and individual counseling to battered women at the Outreach Center.
Responsibilities Include:
· Provides information and referrals regarding legal, medical, employment, health and mental health needs to battered women.
· Organizes and facilitates outreach support groups.
· Assists Counseling Program Director in development and execution of outreach prevention programs and materials.
Qualifications:
· B.A. in human services or equivalent life/work experience.
· Excellent interpersonal and community-building skills.
· Excellent counseling skills with women.
· Experience with training, supervision, and recruitment of volunteers preferred.
SPANISH BILINGUAL OUTREACH CHILDREN’S COUNSELOR
The Spanish Bilingual Outreach Children’s Counselor will provide counseling & support for mothers and children served through outreach services.
Responsibilities Include:
· Case management and goal setting for children.
· Intake and assessment of children for outreach services.
· Facilitation of outreach groups for children, i.e. activity/play groups and support groups.
· Counseling for mothers concerning parenting issues, child development and family issues.
Qualifications:
· Minimum B.A. degree in human services, counseling, or related equivalent required.
· Knowledge/experience in counseling with children.
· Knowledge of developmental issues, trauma, parenting, and child abuse.
SPANISH BILINGUAL TRANSITIONAL SERVICES WOMEN’S ADVOCATE
The Spanish Bilingual Transitional Services Women’s Advocate is responsible for case management and the development of resource information in collaboration with community organizations, and provides skill building opportunities to assist battered women to achieve emotional and financial self-sufficiency.
Responsibilities Include:
· Meets individually with Transitional services clients to set and monitor personal goals
· Provides crisis intervention, advocacy and counseling as needed.
· Provides outreach to clients in Tri-Cities, and under-served areas of Boulder County.
Qualifications:
· B.A. in human service field or equivalent experience.
· Experience in counseling with children & families, crisis intervention, and/or case management.
· Experience in substance abuse/addiction issues.
· Experience in working with housing issues.
ALL POSITIONS:
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
· Experience & knowledge of social justice, anti-oppression, racial, class, sexual orientation, and prevention of violence against women & children issues.
Pay and Benefits
