Affordable Housing Alliance

In 1994, Boulder Housing Partners joined with Affordable Housing Alliance to develop the award winning Poplar Gardens in North Boulder. Poplar Gardens is a small community of single-family homes, surrounding a common green.

The development offers homeownership opportunities for fourteen low to moderate-income families. Boulder Housing Partners provided the land, which is held in a land trust, and Affordable Housing Alliance designed and constructed the project in collaboration with the new homeowners, each of whom contributed 200+ hours of sweat equity. Poplar Gardens exemplifies the excellence that can be brought to affordable housing development through creative collaboration.
