Boulder County Community Action Programs has a part time position open working with the Personal Investment Enterprise Program (PIE). It will start at 20 hrs a week and in six months go to 15 hrs. a week. See attached job description. One needs to apply through the County Human Resources office. Position Description The Boulder County Community Action Program is seeking a Personal Investment Enterprise (PIE) Program Specialist II to develop and implement community based programs that respond to the needs of low-income, multicultural people in Boulder County. Programs will integrate cultural diversity and address issues that affect youth, families, and people of color. This hourly/temporary position is funded until December 2008 with continued funding possible. Working 20 hours per week for the first six months, then 15 hours per week thereafter, duties will include: working with Boulder County communities to administer the IDA (Individual Development Account, an asset-building savings account program for low-income individuals) including working with referral organizations and financial institutions and providing informational presentations to the public; interviewing potential participants and determining program eligibility; processing participant applications; inputting participant information into a database; creating reports, and maintaining all associated files; identifying and organizing administrative systems; creating basic structures for evaluating the success of the program; developing individualized plans to resolve client concerns according to program guidelines; providing counseling assistance and monitoring; providing advocacy and education to the public, officials, and others relating to the needs of low-income multicultural people; contributing to overall agency efforts with regard to planning, reporting and coordinating with staff; providing input and assistance in the preparation and monitoring of budgets; assisting in the development of program policies and procedures; and performing related work as required. Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science or a related field and two years of professional experience in a related human services program. Requires interviewing and counseling skills. Must work effectively with other employees, agencies, and the public.
