Circle of Care Client: It was a very difficult time in my life when I was blessed to connect and find out about Circle of Care. My wife had just died after a long struggle with Cancer and I was depressed and isolating.

The Circle of Care Director came to speak to our “Widowed Persons Support Group” through Boulder County Hospice. It sounded too good to be true. As I don’t drive and night anymore I tend to avoid and miss out on a lot of evening events and I was also feeling pretty down and hopeless. So she said that a volunteer would come and pick me up and get me out to concerts, theater, jazz jams ( I told her I am a jazz lover)  and we would go out as a group so I would be connecting with a lot of new friends. I really didn’t believe they would do this and not ask me for money!

Well I can’t tell you how much it changed my life. I have gone to so many joyful events and have met so many wonderful volunteers and community members.  I found that over the year my life and attitude changed Circle of Care changed my life. Its two years later and they also encouraged me to participate in civic opportunities as I have a long history of local politics. I am now on the Boulder County Aging Services Counsel and I coach little league football. My life is inspired and active thanks to the encouragement and support of Circle of Care.
