Outreach and Resource Coordinator- Parenting Place

Full time (35 hours a week) position will be funded by a three year grant. Continuation of position after three years will depend on funding.

Responsibilities:

Outreach Coordination:

Provide parent education and reach new families at off site location, other agencies, businesses etc.
Facilitate at least one weekly parent support group in Longmont or East Boulder County.

Health Resource Coordination:

Responsible for completing requirements of Colorado Health Foundation grant:
Assist families in accessing and enrolling in health plans including Medicaid, CHP+ and private insurance.
Provide health information to the community.
Refer families to existing services and follow through after referral.

Resource Coordination:

Responsible for maintaining our donation closet, resource area and library and tracking usage.
Update the Parent’s Resource Directory, resource database and resource areas of our websites.
Be the liaison between Parenting Place and other community agencies and strengthen these collaborations.
Identify and schedule speakers, parenting classes, health screenings, car seat checks and other education and resource activities.

Qualifications:

Bilingual- Spanish/English
Bachelor or Master degree in Health, Social Work, Nursing, Early Childhood Development or a related field and two years experience in a similar capacity
Ability to build rapport with clients and families
Good organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently without intensive supervision
Experience working with families from various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds
Proficient in MS Office 97 or 2000; MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook, Internet
Pediatric CPR & First Aid recommended
