People Engaged in Raising Leaders (PERL) Board Recruitment Fair CALL FOR ORGANIZATIONS
Submitted by carly on Mon, 05/05/2008 - 12:18.
Dear Community Leader,
We would like to invite you to participate in the People Engaged in Raising Leaders (PERL) Recruitment Fair on June 26th at the Lafayette Public Library, located at 775 W. Baseline Road, Lafayette, CO 80026. Please see attached flyer for more information.
The People Engaged in Raising Leaders (PERL) is an eleven (11) session training program designed to increase involvement amongst people of color on boards and commissions across the county. P.E.R.L came about as a result of the inclusiveness work the Community Foundation was doing with non-profit organizations.
The P.E.R.L. collaborative formed and developed the curriculum. P.E.R.L. training focuses on empowering people of color to participate and become more involved civically in their community. Participants will gain the skills and obtain the tools necessary to better understand the process, structure, and make-up of boards and commissions. The training prepares people of color to take leadership positions on boards and commissions and ensure authentic participation. Organizations are encouraged to participate in inclusive opportunities that are offered locally through the Expanding Leadership Initiative through the Community Foundation serving Boulder County.
If you are interested in participating in the recruitment fair, please send Perla Delgado an e-mail with your organizations name and individual who will be at the fair to pdelgado@bouldercounty.org.
I hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to connect with individuals who have the desire and the training to contribute to their community by participating on your board or commission.
Sincerely,
Perla Delgado
