Social Venture Partners Announces 2008 Grant Awards

Boulder, Colo. – At a recent meeting of members involved in Social Venture Partners Boulder County (SVP), SVP made grant award decisions to support five local youth and Latino-serving nonprofits in Boulder County in 2008, making $95,000 in direct contributions. SVP was established in the Fall of 2000 as a fund of The Community Foundation, by local business and community leaders interested in combining the power of business with a passion for giving. Grant recipients include: Colorado Youth Program, Growing Gardens, Intercambio de Comunidades, the Women’s Wilderness Institute, and Longmont Children’s Council.

Including this year’s grants, SVP Boulder County will have provided $840,000 and thousands of hours of management consulting to thirteen youth and Latino-serving nonprofits across Boulder County.  SVP Boulder County aims to work with organizations to help them realize their ambitions through a combination of contributions of cash and consulting. This mix of time, money and expertise is revolutionizing the relationship between nonprofits and those who support them while providing valuable returns that far exceed the capital investment.
