About the Event: 
Boulder Community United is dedicated to making Boulder a welcoming community for all by working to eliminate all forms of racism, hate and discrimination. Boulder Community United (BCU) is a coalition of members of the community working to eliminate bias motivated acts through advocacy, education and develop action steps. BCU encourages positive interaction between all people. Boulder Community United establishes and promotes community dialogues that increase the understanding of racism, discrimination, hatred and other bias motivated behavior. We work to make Boulder a more inclusive community that welcomes all and diminishes the potential of bias motivated behavior. BCU members are willing to educate themselves on the issues. Meeting Dates/Times: 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month at the YWCA at 5:00. Are the meetings open to the public? Yes, however please contact Detre at BCU.detre@gmail.com for membership info.

A monthly meeting of organizations that are developing strategies to end oppression in Boulder County. The group provides a network to share what is already being done in the community around racism and other oppressions. Members are looking at what can be done as a collaborative to end oppression and how can we support each other in the effort. Expanding Leadership Initiative Advisory Committee Meeting

About the Event: 
This committee will advise the Foundation on program content and development. The committee consists of four Community Foundation Board of Trustee members and six representatives from around Boulder County serving as Community Representatives. The non-profit organizations represented by the Community Representatives will receive a stipend of $500. The Committee will meet on a monthly basis. The Expanding Leadership Advisory Committee is now accepting applications for the Boulder County Community Representatives. The application form is in Microsoft Word format. Multicultural Committee General Meeting

BOULDER COUNTY AIDS PROJECT - Multicultural Committee meets every second Thursday of the Month @ 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Multicultural Committee BCAP's Board of Directors created the Multicultural Committee (MC) in late 1995. This committee, made up of individuals from the community, Board members and staff, has worked to advise the agency toward the goal of becoming multiculturally proficient. The MCDC has completed state-of-the-art assessments of the staff, volunteers and Board in regards to multicultural proficiency*, has offered and implemented recommendations on diversity training, hiring practices, Board recruitment and more. *The MCDC defines Multicultural Proficiency as: An individual displays multicultural proficiency by valuing human differences such as race, sexual orientation, age, faith, gender, ability and income. The multicultural proficient individual extends love, compassion and mutuality to all. An organization displays multicultural proficiency by fostering leaders who align process and practice with purpose. The multicultural proficient individual and organization act as agents of change by modeling critical thinking and processes; encouraging dialogue and exploration of alternatives; challenging assumptions and beliefs; conducting culture-based research and disseminating its results. The multicultural proficient organization hopes that by doing the above, others are inspired to partake in similar efforts and add to the knowledge base of multicultural competent practice and policy
