Fourmile Canyon Fire: How to Help

The Community Foundation knows many Boulder County residents are anxious to assist with relief efforts for the Fourmile Fire. Below is a summary of how people can connect to help out immediately.

The Community Foundation will continue to explore how it can best support the pending long-term needs of those displaced by the fire. Please stay tuned here for updates.

New Vista High School's Earth Taskforce celebrates successful inaugural year

New Vista High School students and staff meet twice a week to create events to raise awareness of the school’s environmental impact and to offer accessible solutions the school, teachers, staff, and students can take to reduce their environmental impact. It's the newest program out of the Cottonwood Institute.

Tribute to Tim Leifield

We at The Community Foundation were very sad to hear the news about the death of our dear friend and colleague, Tim Leifield. A former member of TCF's staff and the current chair of the Open Door Fund, Tim brought immense creativity, wicked humor, deep caring, wisdom, and spark to everything he touched. His work as Executive Director of Boulder County Aids Project and elsewhere was groundbreaking, and the list of lives he bettered is immeasurable. HIs generous spirit and playful spark will be deeply missed.

Three Weeks Left: Haiti Earthquake Relief Tax Deduction

Three Weeks Left: Haiti Earthquake Relief Tax Deduction Taxpayers are able to deduct donations given to non-profit organizations providing relief efforts in Haiti on their 2009 tax returns.  Donations of money or property given between January 12 and February 28, 2010 qualify for this retroactive deduction.

It's the season of giving, and thankfully there's lots of good stuff going on at The Community Foundation. Find out what we're seeing and what we're doing about it tonight on "It's the Economy" with KGNU host Kathy Partridge, from 6 to 7 p.m.


Chris Barge will sit in live for the full hour as Kathy covers the 6 Principles of High Impact Giving, as outlined in the new book, "Change Philanthropy: Candid Stories of Foundations Maximizing Results through Social Justice" by Alicia Epstein Korten and edited by Kim Klein.
