Mission:
Environmental Defense focuses on four program areas: restoring biodiversity, stabilizing climate change, protecting oceans, and defending human health from exposure to toxins. Our regional initiatives involve protecting rivers and surrounding habitats as well as threatened and endangered species of the intermountain West. Our work has included efforts on behalf of endangered fish, whooping cranes, prairie dogs, and many others. We also work for western air quality by protecting visibility in our cherished national parks and wilderness areas, along with programs to reduce air pollution in communities across the country.
