Mission:
The Living School: Self-Directed, Democratic Learning The Living School is a learning environment in which each child is free to pursue the creative and academic areas to which the individual child is naturally drawn. The school provides a supportive location for this learning activity as well as a wide variety of mentors and experiential learning situations. As a model of democratic values, the school is run democratically. It is our view that children can become happy adults with the drive for learning, creativity and relationship that is so evident in a young child still intact. It is our assertion that the technical skills, the livelihood of a life best comes from the areas in which a person has inherent interest and that creativity and relationship skills are essential for a fulfilled life.
