Center for People with Disabilities
$5,000
Because we live in such a generous community,
those in the nonprofit world often have the
good, but nonetheless challenging, problem
of what to do when someone donates something
useful at a time when it isn't immediately
needed. This grant will help in the construction
of an on-site storage unit for the purpose
of storing donated medical equipment and household
goods that will ultimately benefit the center's
clients. Having this on-site storage unit
will allow CPWD to improve its ability to
meet the needs of its community.

Center for ReSource Conservation
$7,000

house a new “Value Added” program

Added program takes a waste product and turns
it into an item of value by applying equipment
and craftsmanship. An example might be to
take a piece of wood that has been painted
or stained – which would normally be
garbage – and making it into sellable
furniture. The program will help sustain the
Center for ReSource Conservation through its
less profitable months by creating a revenue
stream that us not weather dependent and will
also use creative means to reuse valuable
materials that would otherwise end up in the
landfill. |

HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield
Counties $2,000
Funding is for Hospice's Self-Managed Care
Teams projects, a new model for care designed
to enhance end-of-life care in our community.
Hospice developed this model in anticipation
of both an aging population and an impending
nursing shortage. The goal is to shift reliance
from nursing care management to a circle of
staff caregivers including social workers,
chaplains, certified nursing assistants and
therapists – in addition to nurses.
Tapping into the expertise of the collective
team results in more time and better care
for each patient served. |

process of training and employing quality
volunteers. Using Millennium Trust funds,
the programs will work together to accomplish
comprehensive volunteer training that will
benefit multiple restorative justice practitioners
and programs. |
| • |
Volunteer Connection
$8,000
The Volunteer Connection works to connect
people's talent and skills to local nonprofits.
Using the right volunteers can be a way for
local community groups to achieve more than
their slim budgets would seem to provide alone.

a laptop computer and LCD projector, as part
of an outreach effort. This additional technology
will enable the Volunteer Connection to broaden
and strengthen its reach in the community.
