BOULDER, COLO. – Nov. 7, 2003 – The average
Boulder County household receives more than 35 retail
catalogs each holiday season; most go straight into the
recycle bin. This year there is one catalog residents
should take the time to flip through. It is The
Catalog for Giving, second edition, which highlights
11 local non-profit organizations working with disadvantaged
youth. Each one makes a difference in Boulder County and
each one is in need of more financial support. A project
of The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County, with
financial support from the Brett
Family Foundation, The Catalog for Giving was launched
in 2001 with great success. More than 100 people donated
over $120,000 to the 12 Boulder County youth-oriented
nonprofits featured in the first edition. The newly released
second edition introduces a new group of organizations
serving Boulder County youth. "We know that people
doing charitable giving appreciate having an easy and
impactful way to learn about local groups that need support,"
said Margaret Katz, VP of Development and Communications
for The Community Foundation. "The catalog makes
a simple and powerful introduction between readers and
some local charitable work supporting kids in our community.
Because it has made giving really simple, it has been
a great success so far." The Catalog for
Giving second edition, features 11 Boulder County
non-profit organizations serving disadvantaged youth.
Each group works to help kids grow, develop, learn and
thrive in their community. Donors can read about the groups
and select specific ones for their donation, or give a
lump sum that will be divided equally among all groups.
One hundred percent (100%) of all donations go directly
to the featured organizations. The Catalog for
Giving second edition, also provides captivating
stories and photographs of featured organizations, including:
Alternatives For Youth, Boulder County Partners, Boulder
Day Nursery, The Counseling Center, Kids Connections,
New Horizons Cooperative Preschool, Project YES, TEENS,
Inc., Voices for Children, VORP, and The Women’s
Wilderness Institute. The Catalog for
Giving, second edition, is made possible by the
donation of all professional services from Steve Conley
of Byline Conley, Don Murray of Don Murray Photography,
Inc., Brad K. Evans of Mercury Design Group, Jill Salva
of Salva Communications, Amaranth Photo Imaging and Vision
Graphics, Inc. The Catalog for Giving, second edition,
is now available at The Community Foundation, located
at 1123 Spruce Street, in downtown Boulder. To request
