The HOPE Coalition of Boulder County will be hosting “Depression Over the Life Cycle and the Role of Faith Communities” on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 8am–Noon. This half-day conference will focus on raising awareness about depression and mental illness through pro-active education, engagement strategies for our community gatekeepers, and the positive role of faith communities in suicide prevention and intervention. This event is free and all are welcome to attend.
Keynote speaker: Amy Robertson, Suicide Prevention Coordinator, University of Colorado at Boulder. Discussion Panel: Alan Johnson, moderator, First Congregational Taskforce on Mental Health, Dr. Jan Hittelman of Boulder Psychological Services, and Rhonda Racicot, Mental Health Center Geriatrics Team.
