THE SEARCH BEGINS… Longmont Idol is back!!

Longmont Idol is back!! Children and Youth Resources and the Friends of the Longmont Youth Center are accepting applications to audition for the 2nd Annual Longmont Idol Competition.  

We believe this is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come out to for fun-filled family evenings while supporting some of Longmont's most talented residents of our community!   This event is designed to bring the community together and support some of Longmont's talented youth.

The Longmont Idol is modeled after the popular TV show American Idol. Longmont Idol is open to youth and adults between 11-25 years of age who reside in Boulder County. The chosen Idols will compete each week and the Longmont live audiences will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Idol.

This singing competition will be held over 5 weeks in the summer. Contestants will audition prior to the competition for a spot in the overall competition.    Normally, in a contest such as this there would be eliminations weekly, however, we would like to keep the contestants involved throughout the competition and allow for “comebacks”.

Applications for the competition are available and must be received no later than July 10th, 2009 at 5:00 p.m.  Auditions for the Longmont Idol will take place on Friday, August 7th, 2009 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm at Children and Youth Resources.

The Top 3 Contestants will be announced at the final performance and will all receive a cash prize, with the Winning Contestant receiving a GRAND PRIZE package.
