Millennium Trust
A Fund of The Community Foundation

The Millennium Trust was established as a permanent fund of The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County to serve the needs of Boulder County residents in perpetuity. It was created by donations from thousands of Boulder County residents giving their last hour of income. Donors ranged from children giving allowances to elders on limited incomes, giving their last hour of income in 1999. They gave their money to help meet the needs of the new millennium in the areas of the arts, environment, civic involvement, education, and/or health and human services.

Grants from 2000 through 2012 total $968,365.

Each year, a group of Millennium Trust donors is selected at random to serve as the advisory committee. This group will help focus priorities for the year and will make grant recommendations to The Community Foundation Board of Trustees.

The date for the 2013 Millennium Trust Letters of Intent are June 3, 2013. The Funding Focus for 2013 is about programs and projects that take advantage of our rich natural heritage in helping to heal and strengthen our community and its residents.

The Millennium Trust for Boulder County was initiated as a partnership between The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County and the Daily Camera in 1999.
