One of The Community Foundation's primary roles is to make
grants to nonprofits, and
we also have a number of granting programs. Like all funding
agencies, we receive significantly more requests for money
than we can fund. In order to assist as many groups as possible,
we offer a variety of programs to help strengthen the internal
capacity of local nonprofits.
These include: Community
Ventures and the W.I.N. (What Interests
Nonprofits) brown bag lunches.
COMMUNITY IMPACT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2009
The Community Foundation/ELI will coordinate Community Impact Internships for youth from communities traditionally underrepresented in the nonprofit sector (ages 16-25) to provide the opportunity for non-profit work experience. The program will provide an opportunity for social justice and community-focused organizations to impart knowledge and experience while receiving help from tomorrow’s leaders. It will also provide a 200 hour internship learning non-profit job experience for local youth. The Expanding Leadership Initiative Advisory Committee is seeking concepts letters from non-profit organizations interesting in being host organizations for Community Impact Interns. Applications for the Fall/Winter Internships are now being accepted and are due by September 15. More information.
