One of The Community Foundation's primary roles is to make grants to nonprofits, and we also have a number of granting programs. Like all funding agencies, we receive significantly more requests for money than we can fund. In order to assist as many groups as possible, we offer a variety of programs to help strengthen the internal capacity of local nonprofits.

These include: Community Ventures and the W.I.N. (What Interests Nonprofits) brown bag lunches.

COMMUNITY IMPACT INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2009
The Community Foundation/ELI will coordinate Community Impact Internships for youth from communities traditionally underrepresented in the nonprofit sector (ages 16-25) to provide the opportunity for non-profit work experience. The program will provide an opportunity for social justice and community-focused organizations to impart knowledge and experience while receiving help from tomorrow’s leaders.  It will also provide a 200 hour internship learning non-profit job experience for local youth. The Expanding Leadership Initiative Advisory Committee is seeking concepts letters from non-profit organizations interesting in being host organizations for Community Impact Interns. Applications for the Fall/Winter Internships are now being accepted and are due by September 15. More information.

In addition, The Community Foundation is committed to promoting a culture of giving in Boulder County. This includes the website: www.CultureofGiving.org. This site was designed to encourage philanthropy and volunteerism. There is a searchable nonprofit database on the site. We encourage you to log on and register your nonprofit to ensure that you are able to benefit from the increased visibility of the site. This is a free service for nonprofits provided by The Community Foundation.

Another program for nonprofits is the NOVA Awards.

Nonprofit grantees must fill in a Grant Report Form which is due one year after the Grant Start Date. If you have already received a grant from The Community Foundation, including an update about your grant's progress with new requests for funding is strongly encouraged.
The Community Foundation is proud to host the Nonprofit Scheduling Calendar. At the request of Boulder County nonprofits, this calendar serves as a common online location to schedule events and fundraisers to avoid date conflicts. View the calendar
