About the Open Door Fund
Mission
The Open Door Fund, a permanent endowment of The Community Foundation, supports the Boulder County community by raising money and distributing grants for programs that enhance the lives of its gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
History
The Open Door Fund was created as a permanent endowment by The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County in 1996:
- To address problems and needs of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) persons in Boulder County;
- To build LGBT community;
- To foster collaboration and promote constructive dialogue between gay an non-gay people; and
- To provide a permanent source of support for organizations serving the LGBT community.
