Outreach and Resource Coordinator- Parenting Place
Full time (35 hours a week) position will be funded by a three year grant. Continuation of position after three years will depend on funding.
Responsibilities:
Outreach Coordination:
- Provide parent education and reach new families at off site location, other agencies, businesses etc.
- Facilitate at least one weekly parent support group in Longmont or East Boulder County.
Health Resource Coordination:
- Responsible for completing requirements of Colorado Health Foundation grant:
- Assist families in accessing and enrolling in health plans including Medicaid, CHP+ and private insurance.
- Provide health information to the community.
- Refer families to existing services and follow through after referral.
Resource Coordination:
- Responsible for maintaining our donation closet, resource area and library and tracking usage.
- Update the Parent’s Resource Directory, resource database and resource areas of our websites.
- Be the liaison between Parenting Place and other community agencies and strengthen these collaborations.
- Identify and schedule speakers, parenting classes, health screenings, car seat checks and other education and resource activities.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual- Spanish/English
- Bachelor or Master degree in Health, Social Work, Nursing, Early Childhood Development or a related field and two years experience in a similar capacity
- Ability to build rapport with clients and families
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently without intensive supervision
- Experience working with families from various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Proficient in MS Office 97 or 2000; MS Word, Excel, MS Outlook, Internet
- Pediatric CPR & First Aid recommended
