Local Resources:
Civic Education Program
El Comite de Longmont

Statement of Purpose/Activities:

El Comite de Longmont has two established efforts within its civic education program that seeks to empower and enhance civic participation among the Latino community. First, we offer quarterly naturalization workshops to assist legal permanent residents with the application for citizenship. Acquiring citizenship opens additional avenues for civic participation through the electoral process and often enhances the applicant’s ability to aid their family members in adjusting their immigration status. Our second avenue for enhancing civic participation in the Latino community is through our voter registration efforts. We focus on registering eligible Latino voters and new citizens and offer voter education forums to increasing the engagement of these communities in the political process.

Meeting Dates/Times: Registration is ongoing, educational forums are in September/October
