About

Investment Information

The Community Foundation has adopted a balanced investment strategy.

All our investments are overseen by the foundation’s Investment Committee – comprising principals in a number of local investment firms and banks – working alongside carefully vetted investment managers, currently Colorado Financial Management. This local investment firm manages 90% of the foundation’s Investment Pool, which is the vehicle for the majority of our endowed and unrestricted funds.

Additionally, the Community Foundation has committed a portion of the Investment Pool to smart, socially responsible investments. First Affirmative Financial Network manages the remaining 10% of our Investment Pool using positive screens and working closely with the Investment Committee. Donors who would like all of their fund assets to be invested in a socially responsible portfolio have that option, too.

A portion of the Community Foundation’s assets are managed by other investment managers who work with their own clients to establish philanthropic funds. Through our Financial Advisor Program, advisors may continue investing charitable assets on behalf of their clients – with the foundation offering its full range of services for these fundholders. This option empowers community-minded donors and advisors to create a customized investment strategy rather than be governed by the foundation’s full Investment Policy. See our Financial Advisor Toolkit for details.
