Why start a fund at the Community Foundation?

If you want to make a difference with your philanthropic dollars, we’re standing by to help you make informed decisions about charitable giving for the greatest impact. Here’s how:

All Donor-Advised Fund providers are not created equal. This is your Community Foundation.

Ever imagine what it would feel like to be proactive in your giving? Let us guide you through your options, and identify a sound strategy for meaningful philanthropy.

At the Community Foundation, it’s personal.

We know philanthropy. We know Boulder County. And we’re experts in local giving.

There’s always room to learn.

Even sophisticated donors can learn and evolve in their philanthropy. In addition to individual consultation, the Community Foundation offers ongoing workshops, salons, site visits, and other occasions to keep donors informed about important philanthropic issues and interest areas.

You’ll also learn and benefit from our data-driven approach to philanthropy, which includes our rigorous, biennial TRENDS Report.

Keep it local.

Your fees and support stay in Boulder County. By keeping your fees local, you’re investing in the foundation to turn around and distribute grants to local organizations.

Engage!

Join us for a behind-the-scenes look at nonprofits in Boulder County on any of our site visits; and meet other local philanthropists, volunteers and community supporters at our special events throughout the year.

We look out for your money.

We’re serious about fiscal oversight and prudent investment practices.

Your fund is pooled with our other endowed funds and supervised by the Community Foundation’s Investment Committee, comprising talented local money managers and banking professionals. The committee is charged with investment policy compliance, and recruitment and oversight of fund managers.

Or, you may decide to recommend your own investment professional to provide investment services through our Financial Advisor Program.

We’re the back office.

From grant administration to check writing and evaluation, we’ve got you covered.

We also conduct research on grantmaking opportunities in Boulder County and beyond, and provide access to the foundation’s evaluation process for potential grantees.

We don’t do gimmicks. Just real people providing expert, customized service.

Working together as partners, we mobilize resources, inspire ideas, and ignite action around specific issues.
