A National Geographic TV producer just posted this message to a listserve I’m on. Sounds like a cool opportunity if you’re willing to act fast — as in, today…
Here’s the posting:
National Geographic is trying to find people who have ideas that would help the environment and cost 20,000 dollars or less, and we need to find those people ASAP!
The ideas can be as simple as an easier way for buses to carry bikes or as complex as fitting out an apartment building with its own wind power generator. The idea should also be something that helps the community as a whole.
There’s no project too fun, too simple or too far-fetched!
The reward?
The winning person will be given 20,000 dollars by National Geographic and its partners to implement their project!
We need to be able to film someone talking about their idea, and demonstrating how and where their project would work…and we need it NOW!
Filming will be taking place this Friday and Saturday (March 20th and 21st) in the Boulder/Denver area.
