Amgen employees surpise local nonprofits with $175K in donations

We interrupt your reading about the depressing development that the Rocky is up for sale with the following uplifting news flash:

Amgen had their holiday party on Thursday. They invited seven nonprofit Basic Needs organizations to join them. When the nonprofits arrived, they saw no food or drink. Instead, the employees presented the seven nonprofit leaders each a check for $25,000. This is in place of what the company would have spent on a holiday celebration. The organizations included the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless, Emergency Family Assistance Association, Sister Carmen, and the OUR Center.

Way to go Amgen!
