Boulder County businesses collect 3,555 books for needy children

The Longmont Times-Call, Amgen and The Boulder Chamber of Commerce led the way as more than 20 Boulder County businesses collected 3,555 books for young children.

The books will be distributed county-wide to low-income families through Parenting Place, the OUR Center, Sister Carmen, Casa Esperanza, the Genesis Program and Salud Clinic.

Boulder County’s generous contribution lifted the total collected by Colorado Business Reads statewide this spring to 23,500.

Special congratulations go to the Times-Call, which collected the most books, at 837. Amgen netted 401 books, while the Boulder Chamber brought in 359.

The new effort was a collaboration between Executives Partnering to Invest in Children, The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County, and a growing coalition of leaders across Boulder County interested in boosting early learning outcomes for our community’s most vulnerable children.
