Colorado Fire Relief Updates as of June 29, 2012

Gov. Hickenlooper Announces Creation of Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012: The fund will assist all Colorado communities impacted by wildfires in 2012 and will complement ongoing efforts at www.helpcoloradonow.org.  Individuals, fondations and coporations have already generated over $600,000 in relief support for this fund.

Individuals, fondations and corporations committed may contribute major or combined gifts through the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012 at The Denver Foundation. These funds will be administered and distributed by a committee of community foundation executives appointed by the governor. Josie Heath, President at The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County, will be participating.

Additional activities that will help the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012 include:

– Individuals can text the word FIRE to 80000 to give $10 through the mGive Colorado Fire Fund. AT&T is providing the inaugural donation in support of the mGive.

– Independence Eve through the Civic Center Conservancy will support fire relief efforts on the evening of July 3 in Denver’s Civic Center Park.
