Beloved community,
We are utterly heartbroken. We have experienced a horrific tragedy. We have lost ten friends and neighbors. We have lost a member of our police force. We have lost a sense of safety and a piece of our hearts.
We think of the families who received phone calls regarding loved ones, and our stomachs turn.
We listen to the stories of survivors who experienced this tragedy first-hand, and our hearts ache.
While many of us are in a state of shock and grief, we also know our community needs our help.
Community Foundation Boulder County has established a fund to support the victims, their families, and our community in dealing with and processing these events. We do this in partnership with 9News, the City of Boulder, The Daily Camera, iHeartMedia, The Colorado Healing Fund, Community First Foundation, The Denver Foundation, Longmont Community Foundation, Rose Community Foundation, Boulder Mennonite Church, Community Church of Lyons, Congregation Bonai Shalom, Congregation Har Hashem, First Congregational Church, First UMC of Lafayette, Islamic Center of Boulder and Westview Church.
The Boulder County Crisis Fund will support the needs of those directly affected and the needs of our community to heal from this horrendous event.
In our grief, let us also remember our resilience. We will get through this together.
