A trusted community catalyst for a quarter-century, the Community Foundation Boulder County today celebrates its 25th birthday.

“Boulder County residents rely on us to respond to immediate needs and anticipate future challenges,” says Josie Heath, President. “As a collaborator and a convener, we also promote inclusivity and provide leadership on key issues, working with community-minded individuals and organizations that want to make a difference.”

Indeed, since its founding in 1991, the Community Foundation has granted $68M to nonprofits representing a broad range of funding areas – including health and human services, basic needs, children and youth, education, civic engagement, arts and culture, and animals and the environment. Underlying the foundation’s approach to catalytic grantmaking is its emphasis on informed decision-making.

“What makes this community a great place to live, work and play?” asks Morgan McMillan, Vice President of Community Leadership. “Our biennial Boulder County TRENDS Report informs the work of the Community Foundation and the people with whom we work. TRENDS is a valued community resource to plug into local data, follow emerging trends, and get inspired toward a better Boulder County.”

Adds Board Chair David Brantz, “We believe that we accomplish more together than we do alone. By partnering with individuals, diverse nonprofits and others who are passionate about making local communities stronger, the Community Foundation is committed to continuing to be a catalyst for good in the next 25 years, ensuring fair and equal opportunities for everyone who calls Boulder County home.”
