Colorado Business Bank, a Community Partner of The Community Foundation, selected the Colorado Ice Wizards to be one of this year’s recipients of a COBIZ CARES Foundation grant of $2,500.
The Community Foundation is also a proud supporter of the Colorado Ice Wizards through its Community Trust Granting cycle. And…The Community Foundation’s very own Bruce Skelton is a volunteer coach! (See him peeking out from the back row?)
The Colorado Ice Wizards is the team name selected by the players of Rocky Mountain Special Hockey, Inc. during their 2010 inaugural year. Rocky Mountain Special Hockey, Inc. provides an opportunity for individuals with developmental disabilities to participate in the sport of ice hockey in a specially adapted learning environment. The Colorado Ice Wizards are comprised of players ages 5 to adult, female and male, across a wide range of abilities from advanced to learn-to-skate. Special Hockey emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship and fun. We play a non-contact game with adapted rules. The Colorado Ice Wizards also emphasize character building, responsibility and communication skills both on and off the ice. Go Wizards and Colorado Business Bank!!!!!
