The Community Foundation Boulder Mountain Fire Relief Fund–Application Process
Frequently Asked Questions:
- Can I submit one application for my personal expenses and one for my business? NO. Please submit one application that covers both.
- Are renters eligible? YES.
- Should my partner and I each submit one application? NO. Applications are accepted by household.
- I have insurance, do I qualify for a grant? YES. You must submit documentation about your insurance coverage, but you are eligible for a grant to cover damage not covered by insurance.
- If I’m undocumented or not a U.S. citizen or legal resident, am I eligible? YES. Please see the list of optional identification on the application.
- Who is on the selection committee? Nine volunteers from the communities affected will evaluate the applications and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees of The Community Foundation. The foundation’s Program’s Director is overseeing the process. The selection committee members are not eligible for grant support. Names of applicants will be blocked from the selection committee.
- What’s the process for selecting grant recipients? The Foundation Board of Trustees has established an Advisory Committee comprised of individuals who are residents of the fire area or are members of the fire departments in the affected areas. Members of the Advisory Committee will review all applications and make recommendations for funding. No member of the Committee will be eligible for Boulder Mountain Fire Relief funds. In addition, Committee members must sign both conflict of interest and confidentiality statements in order to participate. Final authority for grant making decisions rests with the Community Foundation President and Board of Trustees.
