New donor responds to newspaper appeal with $25,000 check

There’s something positive happening here.

Last week our big news was that we received a record 61 donations in a single day from people answering Boulder County’s Million Dollar Mission to help us double our financial support to local nonprofits.

Yesterday we got more good news in the mail. It came in the form of a $25,000 check from someone who read about the challenge in the Daily Camera and decided it was high time she invested in her own community through the Community Trust.

Acts of kindness like these truly help to counteract all the bad news lately about the recession and how it’s already driving up demand while driving down donations to Boulder County organizations committed to doing good deeds.

Local nonprofits are a big part of what makes Boulder County so beautiful. That’s why this year we’ve made it our mission to raise $1 million for the Community Trust, a discretionary fund that helps us provide resources to those who need it most, when they need it most. So please, join the movement and let’s make this an unforgettable year for the Boulder County nonprofits who deliver so much with so much heart.

Help us reach our goal before Dec. 31, so our grant-making will double. We’re more than halfway there!

To donate, visit www.cultureofgiving.org or write a check to The Community Foundation and mail it to 1123 Spruce St., Boulder, CO, 80302.

And if you’re on Facebook, search for our “group” and our “cause” to keep up to date on what’s going on in your community and how you can make a difference.

Thanks for your support. Together, we can make a local impact.
