The 15 Forever Youth Board has decided to focus its attention on youth homelessness in 2020 because homelessness disproportionately affects LGBTQ+ youth, and contributes to food insecurity and education inequality. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2020.
“It can be scary, at first, for parents and families of younger children who are gender expansive to figure things out. [...] TYES is a place to go for quick access to important resources, and to connect with other parents who’ve ‘been there’ – and who are willing to share knowledge from their own experiences with their children, ranging from toddlers to teenagers.”
Following the recent closure of two of Nederland’s early childhood education centers – Little Bear and the Aspen Grove Community Preschool – TEENS, Inc. stepped in to fill the gap.
