TCF to Discuss Cohousing and Aging in Community on KGNU’s “A Public Affair”

Tune into 88.5FM Monday morning for a fresh episode of The Community Foundation’s radio collaboration with KGNU. From 8:35AM to 9AM the fourth Monday of every month, we host KGNU’s “A Public Affair.” This Monday, January 28, Civic Forum Associate Director Barbara Green will discuss the growing trend of cohousing with Neshama Abraham and Josh Berman of the Nomad cohousing community and Alan O’Hashi of Silver Sage Village.

Cohousing is a form of collaborative housing in which residents actively participate in the design and management of their communities. Residents also make a conscious commitment to live as a community, in a setting designed to encourage social interaction. Colorado boasts the third highest number of cohousing communities in the nation. Our own Boulder County–in Longmont, Lyons, Lafayatte and the city of Boulder–is already home to six cohousing communities with two more in the works.
