“Being connected to the Community Foundation means being connected to local nonprofits – and to building community, especially in times like these.”
“We’re very vested in our communities,” says Marietta Luellen, Vice President of Wealth Management at First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO), the largest privately-held bank in the country located in several markets, including Colorado. “A bank is successful when its communities are successful.”
Indeed, each FNBO market has a designated “city ambassador” – like Marietta – who’s plugged in to the local community.
“Our North Star is improving our clients’ financial well-being,” continues Marietta, who moved to Boulder from Omaha. “Until COVID-19, we focused on initiatives supporting small businesses, entrepreneurship, education, workforce development, and the like. We’ve since doubled down to support each of our communities in their COVID-19 responses, including housing and workforce stability.
“We looked at who in Boulder County is working to address these issues, and FNBO really appreciates the work and reach of Community Foundation Boulder County to address local needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The foundation’s cause is ours, too, and we want to help build its momentum.”
Thanks to FNBO’s donation to our
COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County, we’ve been able to direct $47K to the
Our Center, where Longmont-area residents can access a range of services toward self-sufficiency, including short-term housing resulting from the effects of the pandemic.
“We believe we can have the most impact by leveraging the foundation’s knowledge and areas of expertise,” concludes Marietta. “Being connected to the Community Foundation means being connected to local nonprofits – and to building community, especially in times like these.”
