At Hutchinson Black and Cook, LLC – a local law firm serving the Front Range – a tradition of service prioritizes individualized attention and quality legal work, as well as a strong spirit of philanthropy.
“In our 130-year history, we’ve really come to know Boulder and Boulder County,” says Dan Williams, an attorney with the Boulder-based firm that donated more than $11K to the Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund Boulder County. “Giving back to our community is part of our identity, and we especially want to step up during these unprecedented times.”
Dan – who served as an advisor at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services before becoming an attorney – says the foundation’s values align with how Hutchinson Black and Cook, LLC seeks to help and be of service.
“A lot of what we do focuses on developing businesses and working with entrepreneurs,” he explains. “We try to make our services available to a broad range of individuals – from entrepreneurs starting new businesses, to people who have suffered personal injuries, to people needing their wills and estate plans drawn up.
“With an eye to what our community needs now – at a time when there’s such critical need among lower income people, among different social groups, and across different business sectors – it’s clear that everyone is experiencing some level of suffering or discomfort during the Coronavirus crisis.
“The Community Foundation has done an excellent job in getting to know and understanding the needs of those who are most affected, and the needs of the nonprofits that serve them. The foundation is plugged in to who’s doing what in Boulder County, which aligns with our giving philosophy and how we see our role in the community.”
