Rodolfo Rodríguez joined Community Foundation Boulder County as its first Director of Housing Initiatives in June 2026. In this role, he leads the Foundation’s efforts to develop a regional housing strategy that produces, preserves, and protects equitable housing opportunities across Boulder County.
Throughout his career, Rodolfo has worked at the intersection of community, government, academia, and philanthropy to help communities address complex challenges through collaboration, trust, and long-term investment. His work spans affordable housing, economic mobility, public health, climate resilience, and community organizing, with a focus on facilitating community-driven solutions that expand opportunity, strengthen neighborhoods, and improve quality of life.
Guided by a belief that lasting community change begins by investing in people, place, and possibility, Rodolfo has led initiatives that connect local innovation with systems-level change. In Denver, he helped establish Colorado’s first permanent local funding source for affordable housing, creating a lasting investment strategy to build and preserve thousands of permanently affordable homes. In Austin, he founded initiatives that aligned local housing and health systems, unlocking new investments that improved health equity outcomes while expanding affordable housing opportunities. Most recently, Rodolfo co-led a national strategy supporting thousands of U.S. communities pursuing historic federal investments in climate resilience, environmental justice, affordable housing, and community infrastructure, with a particular focus on expanding access for Tribal Nations, southern border communities, rural communities, island territories, and other historically underserved places.
Rodolfo studied Architectural Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, where he developed an enduring interest in how the built environment influences people, place, and opportunity. Committed to lifelong learning, he is a Fulcrum Fellow with the Center for Community Investment, a Culture of Health Leader with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and a Community Development Fellow with the National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders.
Originally from El Paso, Texas, Rodolfo is the son of Mexican immigrants and believes lasting community change begins by investing in people, place, and possibility. Outside of work, he enjoys trail running and mountain biking, exploring Colorado with his four dogs, and breaking bread over Texas-style barbecue with family, friends, and neighbors.
