This month, Community Foundation Boulder County announced the recipients of the One Lafayette Fund, awarding a total of $28,750 to 12 local organizations serving people in Lafayette. These nonprofits provide vital services that strengthen the Lafayette community every day.
Founded in 2008, the One Lafayette Fund was created by the City of Lafayette to support organizations providing important services to the people of Lafayette, including housing support, food, and other emergency family assistance programs. The city of Lafayette has partnered with the community foundation to house the One Lafayette Fund since its inception.
“Much has evolved since the creation of the fund in 2008,” says Lafayette City Manager, Kady Doelling. “Including the passage of a new sales and use tax in 2021 that is dedicated to providing similar support through a city-managed grant program to further expand impact for our residents.”
In December of 2024, the City of Lafayette entrusted the community foundation with the responsibility of distributing One Lafayette Fund grants through the foundation’s Community Trust grantmaking process going forward. “We’re thrilled to have the foundation’s expertise and community connections to assist us to continue supporting our residents through the Community Trust process,” says Doelling. This growing partnership ensures that the fund’s purpose—supporting the well-being and vibrancy of Lafayette—will continue for years to come.
“The community foundation is grateful for our long-time partnership with local municipalities like the City of Lafayette, and we are honored to carry on the work of the One Lafayette Fund,” said the foundation’s Vice President of Programs, Sarah Harrison. “The fund mirrors the work we’re already doing countywide with Community Trust.”
Through Community Trust, the foundation supports nonprofits across Boulder County in areas like arts and culture, civic engagement, education, health and human services, and more. Lafayette-serving community partners who applied to Community Trust were eligible for both Community Trust and One Lafayette Fund grants.
This year, the One Lafayette Fund supported 12 organizations working to make Lafayette a thriving, connected community.
