Newest Member of Our Leadership Team, Community Stars, Leadership Fellows, Recovery Navigators

We are thrilled to share with you an exciting addition to our leadership team with the brilliant Trisha McKean joining us in the role of Chief Development Officer. As a long-time Boulderite, Trisha understands our community’s most urgent needs, and brings a wealth of expertise to the CFBC team. She joins us after nearly two decades of leading fundraising and donor engagement for the University of Colorado Boulder Leeds School of Business, including completing high-visibility campaigns such as the Rustandy Building expansion.

Trisha earned an executive master’s in leadership from Georgetown and a bachelor’s in economics with an emphasis in management from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. She lives in Boulder with her family.

At the Leeds School, McKean also started the college’s first corporate relations program, launched the Leeds Ascending Scholarship Initiative, facilitated many cross-campus and systemwide donor gifts, and recruited a talented team of values-aligned advancement professionals.

“Trisha has made a tremendous impact on our advancement efforts over the last 17 years, and I am extremely grateful for her many contributions and service to the university,” said Philip P. DiStefano, Chancellor of the University of Colorado Boulder. “I am excited that, in her new role, Trisha will have the opportunity to build upon the strong relationship between the community and the university, and I look forward to continuing our positive work together.”

We cannot wait to have Trisha with us in the office beginning July 18th so our donors and community partners can continue their important work with our amazing new colleague.

Trisha is joining a leadership team of innovators from the nonprofit and private sectors who share a vision for CFBC as a best-in-class community foundation and dedicated partner for equitable, transformational change in Boulder County.

Eric Cade Schoenborn, our Vice President of Engagement, joined us December 30th to help launch the Wildfire Fund and organized the digital engagement efforts of the fund, leading to one of the largest philanthropic efforts in Colorado history. Eric comes to us with a rich history of digital and offline engagement in the nonprofit sector as a Creative Director and the cultural sector as an organizer and artist. He is looking forward to connecting with our community partners and serving as a resource to amplify the work of our donors and grantees.

In addition to our CEO, Tatiana Hernandez, Trisha will partner with our CFO/COO Jennifer Fulton Anderson who brings decades of community and investment banking experience to CFBC, including time on Wall Street. Jennifer is currently transforming our financial practices and systems that will allow for a modernized in-house operation to put us at the forefront of the evolving landscape of our donors and community partners.

Everyone Here Knows Peggy is a Community Star

Congratulations to our own amazing colleague Peggy Driscoll who was recognized as Breckenridge Brewery’s first community star, along with another amazing colleague Sara Carrasco-Wyant. Thanks to the team at the brewery giving back to those affected by the Marshall Fire and celebrating those sacrificing so much for the community.

Leadership Fellows Applications Open

The Community Foundation Boulder County and the Boulder Chamber are accepting applications for their joint leadership and networking program: Leadership Fellows Boulder County. Applications for the 2022-23 class are now being accepted. Applications are due Monday, June 20th. This will be the 14th Fellows cohort, and the 10th year of a merged program combining the strengths of the Community Foundation’s and Boulder Chamber’s long-standing commitments and experience in local leadership and building an inclusive community. Leadership Fellows Boulder County will again provide approximately 35 emerging leaders from across sectors with a broad understanding of Boulder County’s economic, civic and cultural drivers. The program offers participants a deep appreciation for the social, environmental and economic interests our leaders must balance in their decisions. Additionally, the program is heavily focused on transformational and inclusive leadership practices.

Recovery Navigators Have Begun Contacting Marshall Fire Survivors

Beginning Friday, June 10, households that registered at the Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) following the event on Dec. 30, 2021 should expect calls to begin the recovery navigation service. Phase 1 of the program involves the Mile-High United Way 211 Help Center, a subcontractor of Lutheran Family Services, performing outreach calls (starting June 10th) to households that registered at the DAC to connect families with initial information, provide local recovery resource information and identify families that are interested in navigation services.  Households that did not sign up at the DAC will be able to contact the Recovery Navigators directly, sometime in July.
