Open Door Fund Request For Proposals: due before 5 p.m., June 27, 2017
The Open Door Fund, a permanent endowment of the Community Foundation Boulder County, aims to support the strengths and needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) population throughout the county in three ways: by building community, by facilitating collaboration and dialogue between our LGBTQ community and the county, and through fundraising and grantmaking.
The Open Door Fund accomplishes our mission by working with and providing funding to organizations doing critical work to serve the needs of LGBTQ people and our allies. While the Open Door Fund accepts proposals from a variety of organizations, we will give preference to those organizations which are primarily LGBTQ-focused. The Open Door Fund is interested in supporting new and emerging ideas, especially those that contribute to systemic change. The committee seeks proposals that:
- address the intersection of multiple identities (gender, gender identity and expression, race, age, economic status, ability, religion, etc.);
- support underserved groups within the LGBTQ community;
- promote education and awareness about the LGBTQ population;
- encourage connectivity among Boulder County LGBTQ people and with allies; and
- increase awareness or access to existing services for the LGBTQ community.
- The Open Door Fund typically awards individual grants between $1K-$10K.
