Partnering in the fight for a just and kinder world

The Community Foundation’s board and staff are deeply saddened by the violence in Orlando this weekend. Our organization deeply values social justice and abhors oppression and violence. An early example of the Foundation’s work to promote an inclusive community is the Open Door Fund, which was established in 1996 to support the Boulder County community by raising money and distributing grants for programs that enhance the lives of our community’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. More than $400,000 in grants have been made to local agencies and programs serving the LGBTQ community, and an endowment of more than $900,000 has been built to address future needs.

We want everyone involved in the Open Door Fund, as well as the community-at-large, to know The Community Foundation is grieving with you and remains a steadfast partner in the fight for a just and kinder world.
